If you look close you can see 3 holes in the black paper. The black paper is the only thing that is protecting your sheet rock from water damage once the shake is gone. There is water going in this home for sure.
Hip & Ridge area needs some work. These are very important that they stay nice and tight as they seal the top ridge of the roof.
You want to find a qualified roofer to replace these roof jacks. Always have a licensed Contractor with a valid CCB (Construction Contractors Board) number.
Typical cause of roof leaks. The rubber around this roof jack is bad and needs to be replaced.
Nails that are exposed like this can create problems down the road. They can cause leaks by letting water work its way around the nail head. Causing the shakes to fail sooner and possible damage to your home. Ideally you would never want to see an exposed nail. At least not as many as are shown here.

Today we were cleaning some gutters and dealing with some unwanted moss on a 4plex on the east side of Portland. The winds on Monday were very gusty. We took our time, used safety lines and everyone went home safe today. Ed is new to our team, and we are blessed to have him.
